Seed Bank...
A Unique Return on Investment

Farmers are given seeds, and in return agree to contribute back into the seed bank after their harvest. In this way the seed bank grows as the number of participants grows.

Farmer field schools are "schools" held in local farmer fields all over the Himalayas.  Having started with only one school five years ago, we now have over 27.

H.E.L.P. agriculturalists and assistants work with local farmers throughout a growing season of a crop, and teach practical ways to increase production without using dangerous pesticides, and replinishing the soil with natural composting methods such as effective microorganisms (EM).  These schools are led by Christian leaders commited to helping their villages, but benefit all farmers.  After a "school", a co-operative is formed, which shares irrigation equipment, seeds, and other items.
